For Learners
Our Life Skills programming is open to all adults in Frederick County. We continue to offer one-on-one tutoring for adults to gain or improve their ability to read. As a learner, you can choose to be paired with one of our volunteers to build critical readings skills that you may have missed during traditional schooling. In addition, we now offer Learning Labs, workshops, classes, and asynchronous programs. We want to meet you where you are every step.
For Volunteers
Our current volunteers are invited to join our Life Skills workshops. We believe learning is a lifelong process and our workshops are geared towards high-interest topic areas and skill building.
Classes
Life Skills: Beginner Digital Literacy is for students with an intermediate to native level of English, and a beginner level of digital literacy. Topics include the basics of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Zoom meetings, and other topics per students’ requests.
Life Skills: Advanced Writing is for students with advanced English or native English speakers. Topics may include academic, business, or GED-focused essay writing.
Learning Labs
Join us on Tuesdays 11 AM – 1 PM or Fridays 12 PM – 2 PM or both for our weekly Learning Labs. This is an opportunity to receive drop in help.
We have a trained volunteer ready to assist you!
Workshops
Workshops are being added to our schedule continuously. They are open to our native English speaking learners, volunteers, and Intermediate or higher level ESL learners.
