Register for a Workshop today!
For Learners
Our Life Skills programming is open to all adults in Frederick County. We continue to offer one-on-one tutoring for adults to gain or improve their ability to read. As a learner, you can choose to be paired with one of our volunteers to build critical readings skills that you may have missed during traditional schooling. In addition, we now offer Learning Labs, workshops, classes, and asynchronous programs. We want to meet you where you are every step.
For Volunteers
Our current volunteers are invited to join our Life Skills workshops. We believe learning is a lifelong process and our workshops are geared towards high-interest topic areas and skill building.
Learning Labs
Join us on Tuesdays 11 AM – 1 PM or Fridays 12 PM – 2 PM or both for our weekly Learning Labs. This is an opportunity to receive drop in help.
We have a trained volunteer ready to assist you!
Workshops
Workshops are being added to our schedule continuously. They are open to our native English speaking learners, volunteers, and Intermediate or higher level ESL learners.
Our workshops cover a range of topics from health literacy and digital literacy to GED focused subject areas. We invite current learners and volunteers to sign up today!
Digital Literacy
Join us for our upcoming Digital Literacy workshop: Microsoft To Do on February 26th.
This hands-on workshop will show you how to use Microsoft To Do to organize your workday with clarity and control. You’ll learn how to capture tasks quickly, structure mini projects, manage recurring work, collaborate with your team, and integrate seamlessly with Outlook and Microsoft 365.
By the end of the session, you won’t just understand the tool; you’ll be able to use it. You’ll have a practical system you can start using immediately.
Whether you’re an individual contributor, Personal User, team lead, or executive, this workshop will help you stay focused, reduce stress, and get the right work done on time.
Our digital literacy workshops are taught by Kishore Bitra, Lead – Collaboration Engineering Team at BCIT. In addition to his enterprise leadership experience, Kishore is a hands-on practitioner who helps organizations turn technology into practical, everyday productivity gains. He works closely with teams to simplify workflows, strengthen governance, and drive measurable improvements across collaboration platforms.
