For this class, students will read The Distance Between Us by Reyna Grande and Revolution Is Not a Dinner Party by Ying Chang Compestine. We will discuss the main points of the stories over a period of 2 weeks for each book through careful textual study. We will review character, plot, themes and the main idea of each story. Students will be asked to keep a reading journal.
The class will meet on four Wednesdays – June 27, July 11, July 18, and July 25 – from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. in the Literacy Council classroom. Space is limited and registration is required.
